Adrienne Arsht Center Announces Lineup of In-Person Events

The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County (@arshtcenter) is pleased to announce a new lineup of in-person and online events and performances which will be presented as part of the Center’s Interlude. The performances include dazzling flamenco performances, a fresh lineup of local artistsperforming as part of the Center’s Live on the Plaza and Jazz Roots on the Plaza series, art and magic workshops for kids, as well as ongoing Arsht on the Road pop-up performances throughout Miami-Dade County. 

In-person events at the Arsht Center will be safely distanced and conducted according to CDC and local health guidelines. Guests can expect touchless digital ticketing, wellness screenings and temperature checks prior to entry, face coverings over the mouth and nose required for all attendees except when in their designated dining location, and light bites and beverages for purchase, delivered directly to your seat (select performances only).

Family Fest: Virtual Magic Academy with the Amazing Max

  • Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 11 a.m.
  • Tickets: $20 – $40
  • Zoom (Online)

The Virtual Magic Academy empowers children to master their own wizard skills through magic tricks they can easily perform with simple objects from home. Led by Max Darwin (aka The Amazing Max), this is a live experience, with lots of jokes and audience interaction.

Kids won’t share the secrets they’ve learned as they will all take the Magician’s Oath and fool adults with some highly visual magic! Previous magic experience not required. For tickets and more information, click here.


Cortadito, Live on the Plaza

  • Friday, April 9, 2021 at 7:30 p.m.

Named after your favorite caffeinated pick-me-up and voted “Best Latin Act 2019” by Miami New Times, Cortadito’s mesh of son montunoguarachabolerosnengon and bolero son will transport you back to a time when Trio Matamoros or Ignacio Piniero ruled the Cuban music world. With a sound reminiscent of the Buena Vista Social Club, this dynamic Miami-based ensemble has backed world-renowned percussionist Sammy Figueroa, opened for legendary Cuban pianist Chucho Valdés, and performed at festivals like GroundUP Music Festival and Afro Roots Fest. Pour Your Art Out: Tree of Love for Earth Day

The Earth is our home, so it’s time to show it the love and care it deserves. It’s such an amazing place, and we all need to do our part to not only keep it that way, but to start preserving its wonderful amenities. Let’s present a gift to our planet in the form of a picture. No need to be an artist because you can Paint with Faith and show the Earth some love with a Tree of Love.

Brandon Goldberg Trio, Jazz Roots on the Plaza presented by EFG

Miami-based jazz pianist Brandon Goldberg, now 15 years old, has been playing piano and making music since he was three years old. With “ample dexterity and wise-beyond-his-years sound” (JAZZIZ), Brandon found his passion for jazz by listening to his favorite artists including Herbie Hancock, Bill Evans, Oscar Peterson, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, and John Coltrane.

Brandon’s break-through TV appearances include NBC’s “Little Big Shots,” “The Steve Harvey Show” and “The Harry Connick, Jr. Show.” He has performed at festivals including the Newport Jazz Festival, Litchfield Jazz Festival, and Bravo Niagara Festival of the Arts.

Brandon’s debut album, LET’S PLAY!, was released in 2019 to rave reviews garnering four stars from Downbeat Magazineand reaching #7 on the Jazz Week charts. Downbeat Magazine recognized Brandon as the Student Music Awards winner in the Jazz Soloist and Original Composition categories three years in a row (2018, 2019 and 2020). Siudy Flamenco featuring Siudy Garrido Flamenco Company

In their first performance in more than a year, award-winning dancer-choreographer Siudy Garrido and her company will present a celebratory night of flamenco. Taking place on the Ziff Ballet Opera House’s Lynn Wolfson stage, this event will feature exhilarating footwork, beautiful choreographies, passionate Spanish guitar and original music from maestro Jose Luis de la Paz. Pour Your Art Out: The Art of Tribal Mask

Throughout history, tribal masks have been used in cultural ceremonies, rituals, and celebrations. Masks showcase regional traditions and are filled with meaning. Make your own mask, with your own meaning.

Festival Siempre Flamenco, Live on the Plaza

Festival Siempre Flamenco is excited to bring Miami audiences a thrilling experience at this much-anticipated event! Top stars of flamenco will join forces in a unique performance that will exhilarate audiences.

This year’s festival will feature the extraordinary virtuosity of internationally-renowned guitar sensation Adam del Monte and acclaimed Spanish singer Jose Cortes, both making their South Florida debut! Also joining will be multitalented musicianJose Moreno and the breathtaking flamenco dancer Natalia Novela. Siempre Flamenco’s founding members Paco and Celia Fonta will join the ensemble with their guitar-playing and dancing, respectively, to complete this terrific lineup of flamenco stars.
