Chiropractic Care That’s a Family Affair

At Rubinstein Family Chiropractic, Drs. Shimon and Melissa Rubinstein are dedicated to caring for their patients and helping their bodies feel their absolute best.

Once you find a good chiropractor, it can be a life-changing event that can help you improve your overall health and well-being for years to come. At Rubinstein Family Chiropractic in Cutler Bay, you get not one but two great chiropractors at your service. Drs. Shimon and Melissa Rubinstein are a married couple who went to chiropractic school together and have been working alongside each other since 2004.

“We decided that we wanted to practice in the town where we lived,” says Dr. Shimon, a second-generation chiropractor. “We love the sense of community and found a location in the heart of Cutler Bay off Old Cutler Road. We have families ride their bikes to appointments, drive their golf carts — and some choose to walk to the office because of the location.”

While some couples can’t imagine working with their spouse, Dr. Shimon says they can’t imagine not working together. Their 12-year-old son, Ari, can frequently be found at the office, greeting patients and offering them Cuban coffee and pastelitos on what has become known as Pastelito Fridays.

“Having our son growing up in our office has been very meaningful for us, as we have seen him grow and connect with all kinds of people from all different backgrounds of all different ages,” says Dr. Shimon. “Working together gives us a tremendous source of closeness that is very important to our family. It also means that we get to share the accomplishments of our efforts and our successes.”

A Welcoming Environment

Since the day they opened their practice, they have strived to create a place where people could come and feel comfortable in a family-friendly and calming environment. At Rubinstein Family Chiropractic, you are always greeted with good music and a smile — not just from the staff but other patients as well. They also offer a lending library of books for all to enjoy.

“From the very first visit, we try our best to get to know our patients and get to the root of why they are seeking chiropractic care for themselves or a child,” says Dr. Shimon. “We are always available for questions and support to all of our patients. We try to be easily accessible by phone, email, text or a DM on Instagram; and we always do our best to reply quickly so they know we are there for them.”

It is this welcoming environment and attentive service that has helped them earn The Florida Villager’s “Best of the Best: Reader’s Choice Awards” four years in a row, as well as numerous five-star Google reviews.

Individualized Care

While some health care providers can make their patients feel like just another number, that’s never the case at Rubinstein Family Chiropractic. They really take the time to talk to their patients and get to the root of any problems they may be experiencing. Then, they come up with a comprehensive, individualized approach to help the body in a state of healing.

Both doctors adjust patients of all ages — from womb to tomb. They have seen infants suffering from colic and even had a patient celebrate their 89th birthday with them. Drs. Shimon and Melissa are both certified Webster Technique chiropractors through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (two of only nine in Miami-Dade County). “The Webster Technique has become a familiar term in the pregnancy and birth conversation,” says Dr. Shimon. “Pregnant mothers are referred by their ob-gyns, midwives, doulas, friends and family for this technique as a way to support a more comfortable, safer and easier birth.”

What’s more, Dr. Melissa is one of only two chiropractors in Miami that holds a CACCP (Certification by the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics). Dr. Shimon is in the final stages of his CACCP certification process.

Whether you’re experiencing specific ailments like back, shoulder or hand pain; having frequent headaches; or even going through anxiety or depression, the Rubinsteins have a healing approach that’s right for you. “We have patients with years of headaches, aches, pains and bodies not working as they should all around come see us; and we help them remove that internal stress,” says Dr. Shimon. “Our ultimate goal is to help all our patients’ bodies function better so they can live a happy life.”

When they’re not seeing patients, both doctors enjoy spending time outdoors in nature. Dr. Shimon is an avid runner and just completed his 15th half-marathon, while Dr. Melissa loves spending time in the kitchen, fermenting foods, making her own sourdough bread and brewing kombucha.
