There’s no question that sports bars and restaurants have a lot of competition these days from national chains. But true fans of great food and great sports know that you just can’t beat a solid local spot with fantastic food and excellent views of the game. At Sports Grill’s seven Miami-area locations, that’s exactly what you’ll get.
“Sports Grill’s reputation is huge here in South Florida and has been for more than 35 years,” says COO and co-owner Christine Marques. “We strive for guest awareness with our reasonably priced food and our family environment. We make it simple to enjoy a good meal with a great drink to share with friends or family.”
Standing Out from the Pack
When the first Sports Grill opened in 1987, it didn’t take long for their famous “Special Grilled Wings” and family-friendly atmosphere to catch on in the community. After a while, the demand grew to the point that Sports Grill began opening new restaurants around the metro. “Eric Haas, our founder, and his wife Lori wanted to have a place where anyone could come and feel comfortable and welcome,” says Marques. “Local sports teams and other community groups have continued to enjoy our casual but fun environment. As a result, we’ve been able to grow to seven restaurants in the last 10 years.”
Sports Grill isn’t done growing, either. Marques says that an eighth location in Doral is slated to open in 2022.
Food That Keeps You Coming Back
Sports Grill’s “Special Grilled Wings” are the highlight of the menu and their most requested item, but they are far from the only good choice on their amazing menu. All the Sports Grill locations feature delicious burgers, incredible appetizers and much more. Marques’s personal favorites are the Rodeo Sliders and the Chicken Philly Cheesesteak. No matter what you like, from ribs to shrimp to salads, you’ll find all your favorites at Sports Grill. They even have an extensive kids’ menu.
“We’ve updated our burgers and some of our special offerings and appetizers recently to ensure we are keeping things fresh,” says Marques. “We’ve always done this with the guest in mind so families or groups can continue to come and enjoy themselves in any situation for any reason.”
The Perfect Get-Together Spot
Sports Grill is also the perfect place for larger gatherings, from Little League teams to football leagues to soccer clubs. Marques says that their restaurants have even hosted baby showers and a wedding through the years. “We host a number of special events. We are flexible and enjoy being a part of the community, and the community embraces our diversity,” says Marques. “Our mission always has been and remains: ‘Ensure everyone leaves happier than they came!’”
