How long have you been in Miami real estate?

I got licensed at the end of 2007 and started my career in 2008

What’s the biggest change you have seen over the years in the real estate business?

The rise of social media has probably been one of the greatest game changers in the industry. The fact that we can expose our listings and services to both consumers, other agents, service providers, etc has been exponentially beneficial.

What’s your best advice to buyers and best advice to sellers?

Do not hire an agent just because they have a lot glitz and glam on the internet or because they offered to reduce their rate. This is probably one of the single largest purchases a consumer makes in their lifetime. Go with someone who’s recommended.

What three things are most important in being a successful agent?

Perseverance, communication skills and professionalism.

How has social media changed the way you market properties?

Social media is wonderful! It can help us target a certain sector that normally we wouldn’t have access to. But I like to keep an old-school mentality and I still use the traditional methods of calling and in-person meetings. The personal touch, in my opinion, is the most powerful and it builds relationships that last a lifetime, which is key.

What is one thing sellers can do to ensure they get top dollar for their home?

Remodel their homes, especially the kitchens and bathrooms. Most buyers today are technology driven, they have careers that are very time consuming, and they simply cannot fathom having to gut and redo a home.

What are buyers looking for today that they weren’t in past years?

Technology! Smart homes are so attractive to today’s consumers. Things like Ring doorbells, Nest thermostats, and keyless entry really attract today’s buyers and are relatively inexpensive.
