There are so many benefits of being an American, but one of the best is having the freedom to show your patriotism. While you’re understandably proud of your country, do you know how to express your devotion to the United States? Be a Student of American History

There is a surprising number of people who don’t know basic American history facts. Many people aren’t aware that the Declaration of Independence was drafted mostly by Thomas Jefferson, and it was published on July 4, 1776. Some people don’t even know their constitutional rights. The founding fathers worked tirelessly to give the states freedom-we should honor them by reading up on American history.

Get Out and Vote During Elections

The most patriotic action you can take is voting. Every four years we have the right to vote to elect our president and vice president. Additionally, there can be local and state elections held throughout the year-you should also vote for those races. Many people in other countries wish they had a say in the election of their leader. Don’t pass up the opportunity to vote.

Support a Veteran

We should all support veterans because they sacrificed a lot for the future of our country. While you should thank a veteran, you can also do better. Other ways to support veterans include making a donation to a veteran service organization or offering to pick up their groceries. There are many ways to support veterans, but often they don’t want anything other than your respect and gratitude.

Fly the American Flag Outside Your Home

Everyone should have American flag/s on their flagpoles and fly it properly. outside their home or business. Review the U.S. Flag Code to ensure you’re not demonstrating disrespect when you’re flying the flag. If you want to make a flag an integral part of your home, consider one of the various types of flagpoles. If you can’t have a grounded flagpole, you can always get a wall-mounted flagpole for your porch.
