MD NOW® Urgent Care, the largest urgent care provider in Florida, donated 5,000 rapid COVID-19 test kits to The Agape Network.
Agape is a nationally accredited community health center with a mission to restore individuals and families to psychological, social, physical and spiritual health. Working closely with women and children in the community, Agape needed the rapid tests to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and keep the families they serve safe.
“We are a community-focused company, and our goal is to keep as many people healthy as we can,” said Dr. Jeffrey Collins, MD Now’s Chief Medical Officer. “When we learned how Agape could use the rapid tests in areas they serve, we were more than happy to help.”
The rapid COVID-19 test, also called an antigen test, detects proteins from the virus which causes COVID-19. With a rapid test, patients can get their results in just minutes. Early detection can reduce viral spread and determine who is most infectious to quickly follow necessary precautions.
“We are so grateful to MD Now for these testing kits,” said Claudio Perez, President and CEO of Agape. “Donations like this will allow us to save lives.”
MD Now has 56 locations across Florida. They are open 365 days a year, including holidays, and patients are generally seen in an hour or less.
