Ray Lewis, Shane Battier & Alonzo Mourning Raise $300K at Charity Poker Event

After-School All-Stars, the nation’s largest school-based after-school program helping middle school youth to succeed, raised over $300,000 at its sixth annual charity poker tournament, All-In for All-Stars, on Sunday, January 19, 2020, at Mondrian South Beach.

Celebrities, pro-athletes, philanthropists and artists gathered to raise the stakes and give back, all while vying to win luxurious timepieces and sports prizes in honor of Super Bowl LIV, in a charity poker tournament hosted by Wayne Boich, Mark Groussman and Michael Simkins, with celebrity co-host, Hall of Famer Ray Lewis. With so many well-known names competing for the title of poker champion, discussions at the event revolved heavily around who had been able to practice their skills by playing Poker Online the most ahead of the big day. Other celebrity athletes in attendance included world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, and former NBA players Shane Battier and Alonzo Mourning. Mark Fisher, the first place winner of the poker tournament, took home the Grand Prize of the night featuring a stunning limited-edition Devon Group 63 timepiece donated by Devon Works, a custom Winner’s Jacket by Jaxson Maximus, an exquisite bottle of Louis XIII, and a gold magnum bottle of Lamborghini Prosecco. To brush up on his skills before the match, Fisher may have played at an online casino like Macauindo.com so he was primed and ready to take home those prizes!

A bayfront cocktail reception with savory passed hors d’oeuvres greeted guests upon arrival before being escorted indoors to the hotel’s Sunset Ballroom to enjoy a charity poker tournament, dinner courtesy of Mondrian South Beach, live streaming of NFL Championship playoff games, a live auction, and live musical performances by renown rock jazz pianist ELEW, singer/painter Joe Everson and vocalist Bonn E Maiy. While they played, poker players and their guests also enjoyed shoulder massages courtesy of E11even, up-close magic by Mio, and played against pro gamers from Team Witness at the NextLevel Gaming Lounge. To unwind, guests enjoyed poolside cocktails at the event’s al fresco VIP Lounge.

Funds raised at the sixth annual All-In for All-Stars will benefit over 2,000 students served by After-School All-Stars South Florida, which provides comprehensive, school-based after-school programs for low-income youth in the most underserved neighborhoods in South Florida and around the country. Event curator, Natalia Sol, says “since its inception five years ago, the annual event has raised more than $2.8 million enabling the charity to fulfill their mission of helping students succeed in school and life.”

Sponsors that contributed to the success of the event and the fulfillment of the charity’s mission included: Royal Caribbean International, Mondrian South Beach, Devon Works, Westime, E11even, Bacardi, Louis XIII, Tourneau, David Yurman, Jaxson Maximus, Miami Heat, Haute Living, Santoni, Pure Executive Health, 360 Global Wine, Oliva Cigars, Fanatics, Islamorada Beer Company, HealthGAINS, Next Level Gaming, Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences, Peter Tunney Art, and Pro Support Systems.
