On August 2, 2019, the Mayor and City Council will inaugurate the highly anticipated Doral Glades Park. This is the City’s first environmental park and only nature center within Northwest Miami-Dade. The state-of-the-art facility, an homage to the unique environment of the Florida everglades, was partially funded by a grant in 2008 from the Florida Communities Trust’s Florida Forever Program in the amount of $3.6 million.
The 23-acre facility, located at 7600 NW 98 Pl., is centered on a lake and wetland with amenities that include: tennis, basketball and sand volleyball courts, kayak launch, community/nature center, educational boardwalk. Grand opening event attendees will enjoy family-friendly activities likegiveaways, a special screening of nature-themed short films, tours and more!
