Over 1,000 residents and neighbors helped the Town celebrate the spring season during the Town’s Annual Easter Eggstravaganza on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Cutler Ridge Park. The event, an annual tradition the Town has held for the past 11 years, drew in a record-breaking crowd this year.
In addition to the two egg hunts, attendees enjoyed many other activities such as face painting, balloon twisting, a bounce house, music and games with DJ Ivan, a Home Depot kids’ workshop, demonstrations with Integrity Martial Arts, Snowie snow cones, and a free photo with the Easter Bunny. In attendance was Council Member Roger Coriat who participated in the festive activities along with his family.
“It was a pleasure seeing so many families from Cutler Bay, and so many visitors from surrounding communities, enjoying themselves at Cutler Ridge Park on Saturday,” expressed Council Member Coriat. “I would like to thank our sponsors and participants, and especially thank our parks department and events staff for putting together a wonderful Easter event.”
Each age group had their own designated areas to hunt for eggs; two and under, three to five, and six to nine. This year, each egg hunt included a special sparkly egg mixed in with the other Easter eggs, and the child who found the sparkly Easter egg won a basket filled with toys and delicious treats.
The event’s success was due thanks to the support of the event sponsor, Cricket Wireless, as well as the hard work put in by the Town’s Parks and Recreation Staff.
