NUU Mobile and the Ronaldinho Globe Street Team Host Social Workshop for Local At-Risk Youth

The Ronaldinho Globe Street Team (RGST), formed by Brazilian soccer legend Ronaldinho, recently joined forces with Miami-based, smartphone manufacturer, NUU Mobile, to bring a street soccer tournament to the city’s Wynwood district on from May 26-27th. The RGST also hosted a soccer and life-skills workshop for kids and teens from Miami Bridge Youth & Family Services.

Miami Bridge’s at-risk youth were able to learn valuable life-lessons from street soccer players, such as Edward Van Gils, Randall do Rosario, Orry Promes, and Issy Hamdoui, who also faced similar challenges growing up.

The kids also participated in a friendly soccer match against these world-class athletes with gear generously provided by athlete equipment company, SKLZ. The equipment was later donated to Miami Bridge Youth & Family services’ Miami Central Campus for the youth to use year-round.

“This was a wonderful event for the kids on many levels. The players were living proof for our youth that people can overcome tremendous obstacles in life and then go on to chase their dreams,” stated Dorcas Wilcox, CEO of Miami Bridge Youth & Family Services, Inc.

Working in collaboration with local partners, as well as nonprofit organizations like Miami Bridge, RGST athletes aim to leave a legacy of inspiration and empowerment through street football collaboration in these social workshops and educational charity events for local children.
