RIP Kobe

Today the world lost an icon. A hero. A husband. A Father.

I didn’t grow up a Kobe Bryant fan. However, I was, like every basketball fan, in awe of his ability on the court. His drive, determination, his ability to will his teammates to wins and championships. His unmatched work ethic was something to admire.

I did become a huge fan of Kobe Bryant off the court. Hearing stories about how he would drive to the Lakers facilities to get a workout in a 5am, just to drive home in time to take his daughters to school. Then back down to get another workout, or lift, or to get ready for that nights game. I truly admire him as a father. No one is perfect and no one has a perfect marriage. Kobe used his past controversies and fame to fuel him to become a great husband and father.

His daughter Gigi, only 13 will be missed. She was on her way to becoming a start in her own right and carrying on his legacy.

He was just getting started. For all the great things he did on the basketball court during his playing days, his bets was yet to come. Gone way to soon.

This is a tough one to grasp.

Our prayers are with the Bryant family as well as with the other victims’ families.

It unfortunately takes a sudden, tragic death to remind us all how incredibly fragile life truly is.
