Competative hockey players, want-to-be players and fans can now test their ability to make accurate “saucer passes” and have fun doing it thanks to a game called “Sauce Toss Supreme.” Invented by a Canadian hockey player in 2013, the game consists of two durable, portable platforms that simulate ice surface, integrated nets and soft plastic pucks.
Using a conventional hockey stick, the player makes the saucer pass by placing the puck at the heel of the stick blade and, with wrist action, sweeps it across the platform surface propelling the puck airborne, like a flying saucer, into a net located from 20 to 28 feet away. Points are earned when the puck lands in the net. One, two or four players can play the game outdoors or indoors.
