Now that summer is upon us, it’s prime time to get your bike into a ride-worthy state. The more you’re on the road, the more you should consider upgrades that assist with safety and comfort as you ride. Read on to discover the motorcycle upgrades you didn’t know you needed.

Helmet-Mounted Brake Light

Of course, we have to mention this gizmo because of how cool it is. It’s exactly what it sounds like, but this one isn’t attached to your bike—it’s on the back of your helmet! There’s no better way to alert drivers behind you than with a second, higher-up brake light.

The best part is that these brake lights don’t require any wires or a complicated setup. They detect when you’re slowing down with internal accelerometers and gyroscopes.

Bigger Mirrors

Have you noticed that your bike’s mirrors begin vibrating when you hit highway speeds? It’s a common problem for many motorcyclists, and it can make it difficult to discern what’s going on behind you. Some mirrors also lack durability or are too small to adequately reflect all the activity behind you.

No matter your concern with your mirrors, there is a solution—bigger mirrors. Bar-end mirrors offer an excellent field of view, while other riders prefer the aesthetics of fairing-mounted mirrors.

LED Lights

Your headlights are actually the best safety feature on your motorcycle. However, stock headlights can only do so much; incandescent bulbs can’t even come close to putting out the lumens that LEDs can, especially not at a conservative power level. LED lights are far brighter than stock bulbs, and they’re more efficient, too!

Thankfully, installing new LED lights is a cinch. Many LEDs have a simple plug-and-play installation, while others require minimal setup.
