Renowned Hungarian Artist, Agnes Nagy, Makes Debut During Miami Art Week

Animal Sculpture Exhibit Will Launch December 2 at Platform by Sogol Décor during Art Basel

Acclaimed Hungarian sculptor, Agnes Nagy, will make her Miami debut this fall during Miami Art Week with exclusive showings at several satellite events throughout Miami. Nagy creates impressive, realistic animal sculptures that give voice to the soul of her wild subjects. Her exhibit is presented in partnership with South Florida SPCA and the Hungarian Consulate and a portion of the proceeds from each piece sold will benefit the South Florida SPCA, a Miami-Dade nonprofit that rescues and rehabilitates horses and livestock.

Nagy’s sculptures provide a realistic representation of wildlife, from fierce hunters like lions and jaguars to impressive land-grazers like bulls and horses, to sea creatures and insects like the spiny lobster and the stag beetle. Her work exemplifies the soulmate-like bonds held between humans and animals. While their exteriors are hard, each piece expresses a powerful display of movement and exudes feelings of strength, play and freedom. Each piece carries a symbolic message and invokes transformative interpretations of the human-animal connection.

“Miami is an exciting place to share my love of animals and nature with like-minded art enthusiasts and collectors,” said Nagy. “I am thrilled to be back in South Florida after a successful exhibition at Art Palm Beach last year.”

This fall, Platform by Sogol Décor creative space, will feature a curated collection of Nagy’s large animal sculptures. Nagy’s artwork ranges from $4,500 for smaller pieces and up to $35,000 for larger sculptures. Platform by Sogol Décor is a Miami Beach artistic venture located in the South of Fifth neighborhood that gives creatives, industry professionals and art connoisseurs a place to connect and collaborate.

“I didn’t choose animals, they were the ones who found me and refuse to let me go,” said Nagy about her subjects. “I am grateful that I am able to share my work in Miami through a partnership with South Florida SPCA, a cause that is so dear to my heart.” To support her intensely personal relationship with the animal world, a percentage of each sculpture sold will be donated to the South Florida SPCA.

Nagy will attend exclusive tours and fundraising events during Miami Art Week, which occurs concurrently with Art Basel taking place November 30 – December 4. Private showings of the artist’s work will be available by appointment from December 3 through February 28.
