Wynwood’s Got the Beat

The Miami Arts District Launches A Monthly Family-Friendly Free Concert Series

Who doesn’t love free outdoor concerts? And when those musical performances take place in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood, with their new Live Music Series, it is cultural gold.Launching January 13 at five different locations throughout the Arts District, the series, a family-friendly community initiative, will allow audiences to stroll the area and experience its fashionable, cultural ambiance in the best possible way.

Diverse musical genres and groups will be part of the program, with details to be announced closer to each date. Locations and times will be the same for each month are January 13, February 10, March 16, April 20 and May 11.

Rodilla, a Spanish café with handcrafted sandwiches and coffee drinks, will host the series from 2 to 5 pm. Lombardi Properties, one of Wynwood’s leading developers, will host performances from 3 to 6 pm at the headquarters and signature building. Panther Coffee, the original location of the hip local brand, will have the series from 6 to 9 pm. J. Wakefield Brewing, the graffiti-bedecked tap room with unique signature beers, will have performances from 6 to 9 pm. The small but mighty Miami Mojito Company tiki bar will host the series from 2 to 5 pm.

The series is produced by the Wynwood Business Improvement District (BID) in partnership with Young Musicians Unite (YMU). “Music brings people together, and by adding in a family welcoming and open-air element, we will have an ongoing program that will make Wynwood an even more inviting, culturally exciting place to visit,” said Manny Gonzalez, Executive Director of the BID, which advocates and work for the neighborhood and its businesses. YMU was a perfect partner for the series, with their focus on music education for youth and music programming.
