Miami Rowing Club (MRC) had outstanding performances at the 2023 U.S. Rowing Youth National Championships, held in Sarasota, Florida, from July 8–11. There were National titles in 38 boat classes up for grabs at this year’s youth nationals, which was the largest ever, with 835 entries from 225 clubs across the country bringing in just over 4,000 athletes to Nathan Benderson Park.
Representing the greater Miami area, MRC’s rowers showcased their skill, determination and team spirit, securing remarkable results in several categories. The crew brought home the gold and earned the national title of fastest boat in the nation in the Men’s U17 2x boat as well as a bronze medal in the Women’s U17 4x boat. They also had three more boats with commendable placement at the national level.
“We are elated to witness the culmination of the 2022/2023 season with such outstanding results. The hard work and dedication demonstrated by our rowers throughout the season have undeniably paid off in a significant way. We couldn’t be prouder of our team’s achievements, and we commend their exemplary performance at the U.S. Rowing Youth National Championships,” said Coach Cesar Herrera.
