Rinse It

Start by emptying your garbage can and rinsing it completely with water. The easiest way to do this is to take your garbage can outside and rinse it with the garden hose. Spray It Out

Next, take a disinfectant cleaner and spray out the inside and outside of the garbage can. This will help remove germs, stains, and other built-up messes from the bin. If your garbage can has some old, worn-in stains, try adding a pinch of baking soda to these areas to deodorize it and lift the stains.

Scrub It

Make sure your bin is completely dry before adding a new trash bag to avoid trapping moisture and promoting mold growth.
