MICHELIN Guide Touches Down in Miami Transforming South Florida Into a World-Class Culinary Destination

On June 12, MICHELIN Guide launched the MICHELIN Guide Miami, Orlando and Tampa. The Miami honorees (see full list below) marked a new chapter in South Florida history as the first to be recognized by the prestigious MICHELIN Guide. To mark the occasion and to give these culinary experts the recognition they deserve, the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau hosted an exclusive event honoring the hometown chefs and restaurants in an evening of celebration with a taste of local flavor, which took place on Sunday at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

For more than 120 years, the MICHELIN Guide has been an independent publication produced by famously anonymous Michelin inspectors recognizing restaurants around the world embodying culinary innovation. Michelin’s entrance into Florida dining will improve the communities’ economic impact as well as the elevation of Florida’s reputation. This partnership pairs Florida’s strength in tourism with Michelin’s 120-plus years of experience in gastronomy and is just the beginning of the transformation that will turn Florida into a destination where travelers come specifically to eat and drink, unlocking its culinary potential.
