Palmer Trinity Celebrates The Opening Of Its New Student Life Building On The First Day Of School

On Wednesday morning, August 18, 2021, Palmer Trinity School (PTS) welcomed the 2021-2022 School Year by celebrating the opening of its new Student Life Building and the kick-off of the school’s 50th Anniversary.

The opening ceremony was led by Patrick Roberts, Head of School, who welcomed the nearly 1,000 students, faculty, staff, and special guests in attendance both in-person and online. The Bishop of Southeast Florida, Bishop Eaton, led the school in prayer.

Roberts’ opening remarks centered on the words gracing the golden 50th-anniversary banners found throughout the campus on opening day and what they represent–“Bold Past, Bright Future.”

He shared, “As we open this facility, we not only provide a new teaching and working space, composed of brick and mortar; rather, we open a new world of possibilities for all of us. A world in which our pursuit of academic excellence remains the highest priority for our school. A world in which our students will have the very best and the most innovative spaces in which to learn, to grow and to develop the global leadership skills so dearly needed for life. A world in which our community–the Palmer Trinity School community– will enjoy the most effective daily collaboration between our faculty and students—a true hallmark of our school.”

During the special morning missive, PTS seniors honored the school’s tradition of welcoming the sixth-grade class on their first day of school. The socially distanced ceremony took place in the school’s Trinity Chapel. Grades seven through eleven viewed the event on Zoom.

The Student Life wing is a functional space housing Palmer Trinity’s Admissions and College Counseling offices, Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) spaces, a Global Citizenship area, the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT), as well as the Student Activities and Academic Dean offices. It is centrally located in the heart of the PTS campus, adjoining the Academic Building by Trinity Chapel.
