The opening of Doral’s first ever emergency room calls for celebration, and that’s exactly what Kendall Regional Medical Center did on Saturday, March 30th, at the Doral ER Free Community Open House. The hospital celebrated their $10 million project by inviting friends and families of the community to enjoy a day of fun at the new state-of-the art emergency room. From planting sunflower seeds, face painting, bounce houses and a petting zoo, children had the chance to enjoy themselves while parents participated in engaging discussions with some of Kendall Regional’s very own physicians.
Some topics of discussion included how to know when to take your child to the ER from Kendall Regional’s Chief of Staff Georges Saliba, the services that will be provided by the Doral ER from Kendall Regional’s Director of Emergency Medicine Dr. Joe Averbach and Associate Director of Emergency Medicine Dr. Jessica Quinones, tips on keeping your child healthy from Kendall Regional’s Registered Dietitian Maria Gomez-Borges and the importance of having a primary care physician from Doral’s Kendall Family Medicine Clinic Primary Care Physician Dr. Vanina Molinares
The freestanding emergency room will offer full service emergency care (including pediatrics) within the 10,500-square-foot facility, caring for patients with minor illness and injury, heart concerns, major medical concerns including burns and overdosing, respiratory issues, neurological concerns (such as head injuries and seizures) and life issues like animal bites, allergic reactions and cuts and wounds.
The Doral Emergency Room is opening early April and will be located on 10915 NW 41st St. Doral, FL 33178.
