The Town has started construction of the Saga Bay 1.2 Sub-Basin Water Quality Improvement Project, located near Saga Lake Park. As part of the Town’s Capital Improvements Program, this project will result in drainage improvements, roadway resurfacing, and site restoration for the Saga Bay community.
The total project cost is $494,294.31, in which $165,000 is being funded by a Florida Department of Environmental Protection grant. The remaining project’s $329,294.31 is being funded by the Stormwater Utility Fund and the Town’s People’s Transportation Plan.
“One of the major goals of the project is to alleviate the existing drainage deficiencies in the area.” stated Town Manager Rafael G. Casals. “The Town is excited to commence the project, as it will improve the water quality of the stormwater run-off, enhance the neighborhood, improve drivability, and most importantly alleviate the current flooding issues.”
The project is scheduled to substantially be completed by Thursday, February 14, 2019.
