Serving on the executive team of Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) as Deputy Director of Marketing and Public Engagement Christina spearheaded several of the museum’s successful audience engagement initiatives. As a leader in digital innovation, Christina also guided the integration of technology at the museum to engage audiences with multimedia experiences. This included hiring the museum’s first-ever digital journalist, developing the strategy for PAMM Portraits, the museum’s first microsite of original multimedia brand journalism and launching the PAMM App.
Christina also conceptualized and oversaw the immersive Knight Foundation-funded Augmented Reality exhibition Felice Grodin: Invasive Species. It was the first public art exhibition to utilize Apple’s ARKit platform. “No other art museum has commissioned work in AR with this level of rigor and site-specificity before.” –Zach Mortice, Autodeck
In 2017 PAMM was a finalist in PR News’ Platinum PR Awards for a public program entitled ‘Community Night’ that Christina developed at the museum. The museum’s PAMM Free Community Night: Pride Night was a finalist for the nationally-recognized award in the category of Diversity & Inclusion Campaigns. Christina also developed PAMM Kids, the museum’s first institution-wide branding initiative tailored to the museum’s child visitors. Designed as an invitation to families and children and aimed at improving their guest experience, PAMM Kids created a brand identity and consistent messaging for the museum’s robust programs and offerings for children 12 and under. The launch was supported with a new digital arts education video series entitled ‘PAMM Kids: Ask a Curator’.
In 2015, the Radio Television Digital News Association awarded Christina a regional Edward R. Murrow Award for her reporting from Honduras on the child migration border crisis. The investigative journalist whom South Florida viewers remember for her Emmy-award winning consumer protection segment ‘Call Christina’ on WPLG states that she has decided to “focus on another important challenge of supporting journalism and the crucial role it plays in a free society”. She will be performing video storytelling and segment production consultancy work training journalists in emerging democracies.
Christina will remain Miami-based and will also be working with local clients on media training and brand journalism. She can be reached at:
