Miracle Games and “3’s for Z” a Success

The 10th Annual Miracle Games 3 on 3 Charity Basketball Tournament was held on May 19, 2018 at in Pinecrest.  The popular event featured “3’s for Z” 3-point contest started in 2011 honoring the loving memory of Palmetto High School graduate Zander Standiford. “This year’s fundraiser was a success raising over $4,000 for Achieve Miami with nearly 100 players from local high schools, including Palmetto High, Coral Reef, Palmer Trinity, Riviera Preparatory, Coral Gables, Ransom Everglades and Gulliver Preparatory,” said Dylan Weingarden, co-chair of the event along with five other dedicated student co-chairs who form the Board: Zachary Friedland, Ross Ladis, Ben Lipson, Blake Rubenstein and Sam Zimelman. “This year, the Board decided to donate the proceeds to Achieve Miami, an organization dedicated to achieving literacy for underprivileged elementary students in Miami. At Achieve Miami, students build positive relationships with literacy through guidance, encouragement, and fun as Big Buddy Mentors,” said Blake Rubinstein, The Board would like to thank the many businesses, supporters and generous sponsors for helping to make this year’s event a huge success: Since its inception, Miracle Games has raised over $24,000.
