Nourish 305 Opens at Zoo Miami

Zoo Miami’s first indoor restaurant – Nourish 305 – is now open, and with its eclectic, urban-vibe can stand up next to any of Miami’s trendiest haunts!  The simple yet limitless menu of made-to-order salads, flatbreads, and sandwiches with a selection of craft beers from local brewer, MIA Beer Company, along with the restaurant’s design, will heighten and enhance the zoo goer’s visual and taste bud experience. With expansive views of the Zoo’s Florida: Mission Everglades exhibit, diners can enjoy their meal while admiring some of our local animal residents!

Following a tour of Nourish 305 Commissioner Dennis C. Moss, who also serves as Chairman of the Zoo Oversight Board, remarked, “this is a beautiful addition to the Zoo that will be very popular with guests, and with its close proximity to the Zoo’s front entrance, it may well become a new lunch spot for employees of local businesses near the Zoo.”

The restaurant’s design was inspired by Miami’s trendy Wynwood district, and the street art designs by David Le Batard (Lebo). Lebo is a famous local street artist whose work is most commonly found on Norwegian Cruise Line Ships.  Using Lebo’s art as the inspiration for design, Zoo Miami’s food service provider, SSA’s (Service Systems Associates), Executive Vice President Nick Rado and Corporate Executive Chef Travis Kight presented the restaurant’s renderings. As luck would have it, the Director of Communications at Zoo Miami, Ron Magill was able to contact Lebo who incorporated the visual elements of the adjacent Florida: Mission Everglades exhibit and graciously provided art for the restaurant

Zoo Director Carol Kruse said that “the fast-casual restaurant was inspired by Florida’s architecture while the interior was influenced by Miami’s neighborhoods. Nourish 305 acts as the perfect transition point from the Zoo’s new modern entryway to the heavily-themed Florida: Mission Everglades exhibit – it’s something visitors won’t want to miss!”
