On Saturday, March 10th, Dr. Larry Feldman celebrated his 8th Annual “Bike.Run.Walk” event at Pinecrest Community Center. This event was organized by the District 9 Office in collaboration with the Village of Pinecrest. The 2018 Bike.Run.Walk featured an information fair followed by a bike ride around the Pinecrest neighborhood. School Board Police Explorers rode along with the riders on the 2-, 4-, and 8- mile loops. Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and Bike 305 conducted free helmet fittings, giving away over 250 helmets. University of Miami Bike Safe was on hand to provide students with bike safety points through their Bike Rodeo. Thanks to the gracious donations of Panter, Panter and Sampedro Law Firm and Mack Cycle, 12 bikes were given away during the prize-giveaway as well as entertainment tickets, gift cards and many other items.
Students from John A. Ferguson Senior High School participated as the official volunteers of the event. Miami Palmetto Middle School Cheerleaders cheered on riders and brought spirit to the event. Miami Palmetto Senior High School students kicked off the race with their cheerleaders and mascot. The District 9 team greatly benefited from their assistance, support, and dedication.
