Robb & Stucky Successfully Redesigns, Repositions Model Condominiums

Robb & Stucky, a luxury design and home furnishings retailer, announced the completion of the interior design of four model condominiums as well as the lobby, outdoor terraces, pool and gazebo area at 1300 Ponce de Leon in Coral Gables, Fla. The project, which is part of the owner’s sales strategy to market and sell 41 units at the building, has generated significant buyer interest and already resulted in the sale of 10 units following its completion.

The units, owned by CCP Ponce LLC, were listed on the market by Jack McAlister of ONE Sotheby’s International Realty in May 2017. Maria Elena Holguin, a licensed interior designer and design director of the Robb & Stucky Coral Gables showroom at 4711 Le Jeune Road, was selected based on her proven track record with similar projects.

To achieve this success, Holguin spent time getting to know the property and each of the units, and designed the one- and two-bedroom models to enhance their unique assets. Specifically, she designed the two-bedroom unit with a tone-on-tone palette adding shades of grey, deep blue and ivory that draw the eye outward toward its expansive city views. She designed the one-bedroom unit with cheery shades of teal and a golden-brown grass cloth across the entire wall in the living and dining area. She added a large wire sculpture for drama, wallpaper, and large sculptural art to the two bathrooms. Another model featured a bonus open area that was converted into a home office, adding functionality and purpose to the previously undefined space.

Recognizing that the public spaces at 1300 Ponce were outdated and the furniture had run its course, Holguin chose a white backdrop for the walls, molding and ceilings. To add depth, she incorporated a rich wood stain in walnut for the concierge desk and elevator lobby center table. The furniture, in a grey and navy blue palette, complemented the space. She chose large-scale art pieces for the walls that made the whole room come to life.

Holguin used a variety of brands throughout the process, including Vanguard, Bernhardt, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, LEE, Huppe, Global Views, Pacific Designs Wallpaper, JCC Interiors and Rada Upholstery.

McAlister attributes the interest from potential buyers to Holguin’s design. “We have always been extremely pleased with Maria’s work and impressed by her talents, which we believe helped us get buyer interest and ultimately sell these units,” McAlister said. “Maria’s attention to detail is always above and beyond our expectations, and we look forward to continuing to work with her and Robb & Stucky whenever one of our buildings needs an extra edge to help stimulate sales.”

Said Holguin: “I greatly appreciate the opportunity to do what I love and look forward to continuing to work closely with building owners to help them maximize the beauty and market potential of their properties.”
