Zika Virus Awareness and Prevention Campaign for the Pinecrest Business Community

Mosquitoes have always been a nuisance for people living in hot, humid locations. Their bites can be itchy, cause rashes or lumps, and in some cases become infected. These alone are good enough reasons to get a company like Mosquito Authority to look at your property and see how you can prevent mosquitoes from getting onto it. If you’re going to look for a pest control company like this, make sure they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee so you know your money will be well spent.

However, itching and rashes aren’t the only things mosquitoes can cause when they bite you as an increasing number of the pests are carrying dangerous diseases such as the West Nile virus, EEEVEE, yellow fever, etc. which can cause serious medical issues.

The one you’re seeing everywhere on the news recently is called the Zika Virus and the spread of the disease is causing quite a lot of concern amongst Americans. This is why it’s important to do everything you can to prevent mosquitoes from getting onto your property.

The Village of Pinecrest is hosting a workshop to educate the business community about the Zika Virus and measures to prevent mosquito breeding Friday, August 19th at 10:00 a.m. at Evelyn Greer Park, 8200 SW 124th Street.

Village staff will cover topics that include:

  • General Zika virus awareness
  • Favored mosquito breeding spots
  • Preventative measures that must be taken by the business community
  • Statutory requirements that must be followed
  • Village code enforcement efforts and how they will impact your business

Commercial property owners, property management representatives, solid waste haulers providing services to commercial businesses, and interested members of the Pinecrest business community are encouraged to attend.
