Gulliver Hires New Girls’ Volleyball Coach

Gulliver’s athletic department has announced hiring Matthew Rothstein as the new head coach for the girls’ volleyball team for the upcoming 2015-2016 school year.

“We are delighted to welcome Matt to the Gulliver family,” says Mark Schusterman, Gulliver’s athletic director. “We have a tremendous amount of respect for his coaching acumen and the quality of his character, and are certain he will both continue, and build on, our tradition of success.”

Rothstein has been coaching for years and began working with students in 2006. He began work as an assistant coach for both the boys’ and girls’ varsity volleyball teams at Coral Reef Senior High School. In addition, Rothstein was later appointed as director and head coach for the Tribe Volleyball Club in Florida, where he supervised all head coaches in Florida’s south region. In 2013, he branched out and opened Soflo Sand Volleyball Academy. As the owner and program director, he taught sand volleyball to children between the ages of 13-18.

“I am very excited about the opportunity to coach the Gulliver girls’ volleyball team,” says Rothstein. “Gulliver is an extraordinary school with an esteemed sports program, and I cannot wait to gain memorable experiences with such a qualified team.”
