All for One

For most South Floridians, insurance can be the bane of their existence. Alongside common protective measures such as auto and life insurance, region-centric worries (think hurricanes, flooding and wind) can pile on almost in an instant. It’s in those moments that Tamara Mourino and her team at GreatFlorida Insurance-Pinecrest step in…and sort things out.

“We consider ourselves a full service insurance agency,” says Tamara Mourino, owner of GreatFlorida-Pinecrest and an insurance professional for more than two decades. “We provide a full array of insurance products to meet both our individual clients and business owners needs, we don’t represent a specific carrier; we have a plethora of options when it comes to choosing a company for our clients. We look for what’s best for the client at that point in their life.”

That means employing the expertise of her team in each specific area to find coverage that makes sense for each client. Mourino and her team start with a simple idea: ask questions. “We find coverage that meets client needs, that it’s coming from a viable, reputable company and that it’s underwritten correctly.” And with an ever-changing insurance world, it’s not as easy as some may make it seem. “Insurance is always evolving and changing,” says Mourino. “It’s important to be knowledgeable about the market and up to date on new options.”

And though Mourino doesn’t recommend making changes for change sake, she does encourage clients (and non-clients) to look closely at their various coverage and policies limitations as their life and situations change. “Every two years is a good rule for looking through your policies,” she says. “Do you have enough liability protection? Did you build a pool? Did you get a dog? Many policies may not cover what you need automatically. ” In fact, Tamara cites animal liability is a common coverage needed but not automatically added to most homeowners policies. Additionally, flood insurance is something every homeowner should purchase in Florida. Statistics show that more than 20 percent of flood losses happen in low-to-moderate flood zone areas. She advised, that they offer a private coverage solution as an alternative to the NFIP (National Flood Insurance Program) that can save money in many cases. “It’s something that’s definitely new and unique in the market.”

In addition to personal insurance, GreatFlorida Insurance-Pinecrest helps business owners with all their commercial insurance needs. With “no account too big or too small,” Mourino says she enjoys seeing her business owners grow and blossom by ensuring they have the correct resources to protect their investment and family’s livelihood. As a result, Mourino’s (and her team’s) knowledge has helped GreatFlorida-Pinecrest gain a reputation for finding solutions to even the most confusing and difficult insurance challenges and, as a licensed agent throughout the state, she can work with clients across Florida. She also finds her own experience as a South Florida resident (and local homeowner and business owner) to be invaluable when it comes to understanding the nuances of the community. Says Mourino, “We find solutions. We are the true one-stop shop for all our client’s insurance.”
