MDCPS and T-Mobile Announce Project 10Million, Internet for All

Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) is continuing its efforts to close the digital divide and provide connectivity to those students without reliable internet at home through a partnership with T-Mobile’s Project 10Million.

Through Project 10Million, which aims to deliver internet connectivity to millions of underserved student households at no cost to them, the district has secured 35,000 hot spots with unlimited high-speed data for M-DCPS students in grades K-12 who do not have home internet access.

The hot spots are available for immediate distribution to students, on a first come, first served basis. Participation in this program is strongly encouraged for those students and families in need. There is no fee or cost to students. Parents are urged to contact an administrator at their child’s school to request a free hot spot with internet connectivity.

“Our partnership with T-Mobile and Project 10Million is an important part of M-DCPS’ continuing efforts to bridge the digital divide. Through this initiative, we can provide students who don’t have internet access at home with hot spots and high-speed internet at no cost to the students or their families,” said Dr. Sylvia J. Diaz, chief academic officer, Office of Academics and Transformation. “The evolution that many school districts like ours are undergoing — moving towards increased online learning environments and digital resources — brings to the forefront the need for reliable home internet access for students to engage equitably in educational opportunities.”
