Sadly, winter is here to stay. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t dream about summer. We can think about tanning, going to the beach, and spending more time outdoors. Perhaps the most important thing to think about when building a new pool is what size you want it to be. Installing an in-ground pool takes lots of time and effort. For this reason, you need to be absolutely sure of the size you want before finalizing the other details. Do you want a chill space where you and your partner can go to relax at the end of the day? Or do you want to be a hit with your kids’ friends by building a pool everyone can enjoy? These are vital questions to ask when determining size.

The Materials

You must also decide what materials you want to use in your new swimming pool. For example, you should know the difference between pool tile and regular tile while you’re shopping. (Pro-tip: pool tile is usually more durable.) Additionally, think about what you want your waterline to look like. Are you going for a more sophisticated or calm vibe?

The final thing to consider when building a new in-ground pool is whether or not you want water features. Pool water features are amazing because they can give you something else to do in the space. For example, the kids would love to have a water slide they can enjoy with their pals. What’s more, a unique waterfall feature can help create a quaint area in a normally chaotic place.

Summer will be here before we know it. For now, we can plan for the upcoming season by building a new in-ground pool in our yards. Yes, this is a substantial investment.
