Gipsy Kings to Perform at FLIFF Oscars Party

The award for THE best Oscar-Viewing party goes to the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF), as it rolls out the red carpet for the 92nd Academy Awards® with an over-the-top celebration on Sunday, February 9th. The event takes place at the palatial,16,000 square-foot waterfront Villa dePalma in and is hosted by philanthropist and FLIFF board member Steven Savor.

The gala features multiple viewing screens indoors and poolside for the live Oscars telecast, with champagne flowing, open bar and lavish hors d’oeuvres throughout the estate. In keeping with Hollywood glam, black tie is mandatory.

This year’s event features a special performance by members of the Gipsy Kings. It has been 25 years since the Gipsy Kings captured the world’s imagination with their self-titled debut album – certified gold and platinum around the globe – introducing millions of listeners to a unique blend of traditional flamenco styles with Western pop and Latin rhythms. Since then, the band has sold nearly 20 million albums, all the while retaining the same line-up of virtuoso musicians.

In addition to the Gipsy Kings, guests will be treated to entertainment by singer/songwriter Kendra Erika and saxophonist Will Bridges upstairs in the Sky Lounge.  Kendra Erika has seen four top ten songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Her most popular song, “Self Control” took over the #1 spot on Billboard’s dance chart in January 2019. Will Bridges has worked with Wynton Marsalis and Bobby Watson, and also performed for Quincy Jones’ 50th Anniversary celebration.

Space is limited, and advance purchase of tickets is required. Tickets are $150 general admission and $100 for FLIFF members. For tickets or further information, go to,www.FLIFF.com  or call (954) 525-3456.

Proceeds benefit the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival a 501 (C)(3) organization dedicated to presenting the best in American Independent and foreign language films, introducing new talent, honoring the legends and supporting the local filmmaking community. Films, special guests and events are presented year-round at Savor Cinema in Fort Lauderdale and Cinema Paradiso-Hollywood, as well as during the annual film festival. The 35th Annual FLIFF takes place November 6-22, 2020.
