Eric’s Outboard Sets Up Shop at Black Point

After 30 years in the boating business, Eric Raistrick isn’t just resting on his laurels. The President and Founder of Eric’s Outboard Marine Service is constantly looking for new ways to improve and enhance the customer experience.

“Getting a boat serviced that lives in the water usually means taking it to a boat yard on the Miami River for haul out. Between hauling and storage charges it can become pretty expensive,” he says. Now, thanks to a partnership with Suntex Marina at Black Point, Raistrick is bringing his well-regarded brand closer to home.

Boat owners and enthusiasts can now visit the Eric’s Outboard mobile service center and Contender showroom at Black Point. “Customers can just pull up to the dock and drop off their keys,” says Raistrick, who adds that customers also benefit from not having to go out of pocket for a storage fee while their boat is under Eric’s Outboard’s care. “It’s an ideal situation for anyone who lives down South.” In addition to onsite servicing, repairs and purchasing options, potential Contender owners can also take part in sea trials at the Marina. In fact, as the local Contender distributor, Raistrick is able to take customers directly to the factory and allow them to see their customized boat being built from scratch. “We give clients a chance to be a part of the entire design process,” he says. “They have the flexibility to create exactly what they want and make it their own.”

Customer service is nothing new for Raistrick. In addition to growing the business from a one-man mobile marine mechanic to one of the top Contender and Yamaha dealerships in the country, Raistrick takes pride in employing Yamaha Certified Master Technicians and stocking the largest inventory of Yamaha parts in South Florida. “Our team can handle everything from engine maintenance and repairs to complete repowers, electronics and accessories installations… from bow to stern,” he says. “Our reputation is the backbone of our business.”
