Coral Gables Museum’s August Bike Tour Highlights the Coral Gables Fire Department and features great kids activities

On Sunday, August 16, participants in the Coral Gables Museum’s monthly bike tour will be treated to an extra hot and very cool tour for kids and families.  Guided by Coral Gables Firefighter and Public Information Officer David Perez, cyclists will start at the Museum, which once served as the City’s first fire station, and then travel to Station 1 on Salzedo Street.  There, kids will be invited to participate in an abbreviated version of the Department’s Junior Fire Academy with fire safety tasks and an obstacle course.  Then, riders will travel to Fire Station 2 at Rivera Drive and US One where participants will receive a guided tour of the Station, climb aboard fire trucks and don fire gear, just like the courageous firefighters who protect the residents of the City Beautiful.

The bike tour starts at the Museum, 285 Aragon Avenue, at 10:00am.  Tour costs is $10 for adults, $5 for children and $5 for Museum members.  To RSVP, call 305-603-8067.

Don’t have a bike? You can rent one at No Boundaries Sports, across from the Museum at 220 Aragon Avenue.  Rentals must be arranged in advance of the tour.

The Museum presents guided, themed, family friendly bike tours the third Sunday of each month in conjunction with Bike Walk Coral Gables. For more information, call 305-603-8067 or visit coralgablesmuseum.org.
